Traditional Programs

DayCamp-1The traditional camp program was designed to give children a safe, fun, positive and hands on outdoor educational camp experience. The goals of the diverse camping program is to help youth develop life long confidence, independence and foster respect for themselves and the world around them. The program has five focus areas:

DayCamp-2Waterfront - Our waterfront program offers many activities including instructional swim, free swim, canoeing, kayaking, water games, sports fishing and water ecology.

Farm Life - The camp offers a dynamic farm program.  Children will learn about raising farm animal and will help care for them all week.  Kids will try their hands at planting in our garden program.  Campers will also get the chance to produce some of their own farm products!

Creative Arts - The camp offers several programs for kids to explore their creative sides such as arts and crafts, drama, music and dance.

Challenge - Kids will be able to challenge themselves indvidiualy and learn how to work in a team enviroment.  Activities include archery (9 and older), low ropes course, team sports  and outdoor adventure.

Horsemanship - campers have an opportunity to try horseback riding and learn about basic horse care.  Children will spend an hour at our horseback facility.  Campers will spend half the time riding and the other learning basic horse care.  This program has an additional charge of $95 for the week.  For those campers new to horses and would like to spend more time riding and being around horses can sign up for our new Saddle Up program.

The traditional program is arranged by ages:

6-8 Cloverbuds - Campers in this age group will participate in all our great camp programs apprioate to their age.

9-12 Juniors - All campers in this age group will participate in our farm and waterfront programs. All campers will receive swim instruction daily and will able to choose several other waterfront activities daily.   Campers will also choose several activities for the week in our creative and challenge programs.

13-15 Teens - Teens will participate daily in our farm and waterfront programs.  All Teens will receive daily swim instruction.  Teens will be able to choose several waterfront activities and farm projects daily. Teens will choose several activities from the creative and challenge programs for the week. The camp will also offer special programs just for teens such as a camp out, group recreation and a chance to work on leadership skills.

Each week at camp has a different theme. Past theme weeks have included Olympic Week, Holiday Week, International Week, Circus Week, Medieval Week and Spirit week.

Children may attend the Traditional program as a Day or Overnight program.

Traditional Day Camp - ages 6-15

Day Campers come to camp Monday thru Friday. Parents and Campers may choose a schedule option that is best for them. Day Campers will be placed in a cabin group according to age.  Campers will be able to participate in our closing ceremony on Friday afternoon at 5:00pm. All parents are encouraged to attend.  All campers need to be picked by 6pm on Friday.

Traditional Overnight Camp - ages 8-15

  • $425 for the week
     
  • Campers will arrive on Sunday afternoon between 3:00 and 4:00 p.m. and stay through Friday. Campers will be placed in cabins according to age. Overnight Campers have a fun, different Evening Activity every day! Evening Activities include Campfire, Wednesday Night Dance and other fun, theme related activities. Friday afternoon campers will participate in a closing ceremony at 5:00p.m. All parents are encouraged to attend. The ceremony lasts about one half hour.  All campers must be picked up by 6pm Friday.
