The horse camp offers a range of programs for beginner to advanced riders. The program has been developed to give campers a safe, fun and educational horse camp experience. Campers will spend most of the day participating in horse related activities. Horse Campers will also have an opportunity to enjoy recreational swimming on the camp waterfront and other recreational activities daily. Horse Campers will also participate in evening activity. Evening activities include camp fires, dances and other fun all cap activities.
Horse Program Goals
- Development of individual riding skills. Campers will be placed in riding classes approiate to their riding level. Campers will receive a riding progress report at the end of the week so campers and parents can see the progress made.
Expand knowledge of equine science thru horse management and care classes.
Develop positive new relationships. Campers will learn how to work as a team with their mount, other children and adults.
Demonstration of skill. Campers with their Instructor will develop a riding demonstration for Friday’s Demo Day.
Saddle Up Program
A beginner horsemanship program for those children new to horses. (new program!)
Ages 8-15
Overnight Program $525.00
Day Camp Option $125 + Day Camp fee
This program is designed for those campers who have had little or no riding experience (less than 5 riding lessons). And who do not have their own horse. Campers will spend the morning learning horsemanship in our specially designed beginner rider facility. Campers will spend an hour a day in the saddle learning the basics of horsemanship. Campers will also learn good horse management skills. Campers will learn how to feed horses, groom, tacking up, and other basic horse care procedures. In the afternoon campers will be able to participate in other camp activities of their choice such as swimming, boating, archery, arts and crafts and other fun camp activities. Campers by the end of the week should feel comftable around horses and be able to ride at the walk with out being on a lead.
Horse Camper Program
An advanced beginner/ intermediate horsemanship program for children who would like to bring their horse to camp.
Ages 9-16
Overnight Program $450.00 (Fee does not include feed, hay or bedding)
The program brings together young people who share an interest in horsemanship. Campers bring their own horse and participate in a variety of activities. The program is designed to offer them an opportunity to explore new equine experiences, sharpening and testing their skills while making new friends and having fun. The program is open to all riding disciplines. Campers will have a riding evaluation on the first day of camp. A schedule will be developed for each camper. Campers will participate in several workshops per day appropriate to their riding level and interest. Workshops could include the following: equitation, jumping, dressage, drill team, trail obstacles, mini driving, reining, games, schooling, fitting and showmanship, and stable management. The camp fee does not include feed, hay and bedding. You may bring your own or arrange with the barn manager on the first day of camp to purchase.
Horse Lovers Program
An advanced beginner/intermediate horsemanship program for those children who do not have their own horse (Our most popular program!).
Ages 9-16
Overnight program $585.00
The program brings together young people who have been introduced to riding and the love of horses but, do not have their own. The program is open to
English and western riders. Campers will have a riding evaluation on the first day of camp. Campers will be partnered with a horse for the week that is appropriate to their riding level. Campers will share the responsibilities with a buddy for feeding, grooming, cleaning their stall and preparing to ride their assigned horse. Campers will participate in a variety of activities. Workshops could include equitation, games, drill team, trail obstacles, dressage, beginner jumping, schooling, fitting and showmanship, and stable management. All tack, equipment and approved helmets are provided.
Horse Masters Program
An advanced horsemanship program (new program!)
Ages 9-16, Overnight

Huntseat - Weeks 2 & 3 Western Riding - Weeks 1 & 5 Combined Training - Week 6 Trail Ride Week - Week 4
This program is designed for our more advanced riders. There are limited Horse Lover spots available to this program. Horse Lovers will be assigned to a horse for the week. Both Horse Owners and Horse Lovers will have intensive riding lessons in the morning and afternoon. Horse Masters Campers will also participate in advanced level horse theory and management workshops. Horse Master Campers will perform an advanced level demo program and if the campers decide will be allowed to plan their own competitive final program. Each week will focus on a different riding discipline. Horse Masters must fill out a separate Horse Master Application and must be approved by the Equestrian Director to attend the program. English riders should be able to jump 2’6” in the ring and 2’3” on an outside course. Western riders should be able to ride at the walk, jog and lope in the ring and on trails. Western riders should be able to participate in horseback games and lower level reining patterns. Trail ride week is open to both English and Western riders. Campers attending Trail Ride Week will learn about competitive trail riding and ride on trails ranging from 5 to 15 miles a day.
