Camp Marshall is very excited to be working the with the local Girl Scout Troops starting in May. We look forward to adding more programs in the future.

A Note from a Leader that attended our May 9th,2009 Program at Camp Marshall: the horse activity this past weekend at Camp Marshal, I wanted to let you know about the experience. "The girls had a fantastic time. The instructor and her helpers were amazing. They took the time to answer any questions the girls had and the use of time was perfect. Some of my girls were apprehensive about being around horses but by the time they were grooming the horses they were put to ease. I would highly recommend this event for anyone".

What do you actually hear when you are listening to music? You’ll also work on making your own songs and about music from around the world. Fun hands-on activities with instruments and more! Discovering Music - Juniors

Saturday, January 30, 2010 Time: 1:00pm-3:00pm For groups and individual girls with an adult $7 per girl Min: 10 Max: 25 Registration: Aug 1-Jan 9 Earn your Music Fan Badge while you explore music from other cultures and other decades. What is a song made of? You’ll have hands-on time with instruments and make and create your own song and dance. Tons of fun! Badges can be purchased separately at the council store.

Saturday, April 10,2010 9:30am-12:00pm (FULL) For groups and individual girls with an adult $15 per girl Min: 10 Max: 25 Registration: Aug 1-Mar 20 Earn your Horse Fan Badge while learning about grooming, the care of horses, the equipment used and more! A fun jam-packed beginners horse program during which each girl will end the day with a short ride on a horse! If the sound of a neigh makes your day, then this program is for you! Saturday, April 24,2010 9:00am-12:00pm For groups and individual girls with an adult $20 per girl Min: 10 Max: 25 Registration: Aug 1-Apr 3 Work towards earning your Horse Rider badge in this more advanced Junior level horse program! You’ll expand upon the things you learned while earning your Horse Fan badge and spend more time with the horses! An optional introductory 1/2 hour lesson is also available directly after this program (see program ####). Badges can be purchased separately at the council store. Prerequisite: Completion of Horse Fan badge.

Horse Rider Lesson -Juniors

Saturday, April 24, 2010 12:00pm-2:00pm (in half hour intervals) For groups and individual girls with an adult $15 per girl Min: 10 Max: 25 Registration: Aug 1-Apr 3 Learn how to mount, dismount, walk, turn and stop. Another step towards earning your Horse Rider badge. This program includes an introductory 1/2 hour lesson and is immediately following the Horse Rider program (see program ####). Your lesson time will vary depending on the number of girls who sign up.

Horse Sense -Cadettes, Seniors, Ambassadors

Saturday, May 8, 2010 9:00am-12:00pm For groups, girls with an adult, girls individually $20 per girl Min: 10 Max: 25 Registration: Aug 1-Apr 17 Work towards your Horse Sense IP in this super-fun horse program! You'll learn horse safety, standard horse etiquette, grooming and leading a horse. You'll also explore the tack room and learn about the equipment and its care. IPs can be purchased separately at the council store. An optional introductory 1/2 hour lesson is also available directly after this program (see program ####).

Saturday, June 5, 2010 9:00am-12:00pm (FULL) For groups and individual girls with an adult $15 per girl Min: 10 Max: 25 Registration: Aug 1-May 15 Everybody loves horses! Come learn about horses and ponies in this fun event. You’ll learn about their care, equipment, food and how you need to act around horses to stay safe. Get some hands-on time as you learn about horse grooming. Hop aboard for a short lead-ride around the ring, and then you’ll get to watch some riding demos by experienced riders! The Horse and Pony Try-it is available for purchase from Ohio Heartland Council.
