HORSE CAMP PROGRAMS
The horse camp offers a range of programs for beginner to advanced riders. The program has been developed to give campers a safe, fun and educational horse camp experience. Campers will spend most of the day participating in horse related activities. Horse Campers will also have an opportunity to experience some of the other programs offered at camp such as recreational swimming, crafts, all camp activities and so much more.
Horse Program Goals
Horse Facilities Camp Marshall is proud of it horse facilities. The main facilities have 72 box stalls, 4 sand riding rings, an outside course, indoor arena and miles of trails. Camp Marshall also has a separate facility specially designed for beginner riders. The beginner facilities have a small riding ring and a 6 stall barn. The beginner facility is in a quite place at camp conducive for those kids just learning how to ride.

Saddle Up Overnight program A beginner horsemanship program for those children new to horses. Ages 8-15 Price $570 per week This program is designed for those campers who have had little or no riding experience (less than 5 riding lessons). And who do not have their own horse. Campers will spend the morning learning horsemanship in our specially designed beginner rider facility. Campers will spend an hour a day in the saddle learning the basics of horsemanship. Campers will also learn good horse management skills. Campers will learn how to feed horses, groom, tacking up, and other basic horse care procedures. In the afternoon campers will be able to participate in other camp activities of their choice such as swimming, boating, archery, arts and crafts and other fun camp activities. Campers by the end of the week should feel comfortable around horses and be able to ride at the walk with out being on a lead.
Bring your Horse to Camp! An advanced beginner/ intermediate horsemanship program for those children who would like to bring a horse to camp. Ages 9-16 Price $540.00 per week (fee does not include feed, hay or bedding). The program brings together young people who share an interest in horsemanship. Campers bring their own horse and participate in a variety of activities. The program is designed to offer an opportunity to explore new equine experiences, sharpening and testing skills while making new friends and having fun. The program is open to all riding disciplines. Campers will have a riding evaluation on the first day of camp. A schedule will be developed for each camper. Campers will participate in several workshops per day appropriate to their riding level and interest. Workshops could include the following: equitation, jumping, dressage, drill team, trail obstacles, mini driving, reining, games, schooling, fitting and showmanship, and stable management. On day one, you should bring your own feed, hay and bedding or make purchasing arrangements with the barn manager.
Horse Lovers Program An advanced beginner/intermediate horsemanship program for those children who do not have their own horse. Ages 8-16 Price $630 per week The program brings together young people who have been introduced to riding and the love of horses but, do not have their own. The program is open to English and Western riders. Campers will have a riding evaluation on the first day of camp. Campers will be partnered with a horse for the week that is appropriate to their riding level. Campers will share the responsibilities with a buddy for feeding, grooming, cleaning their stall and preparing to ride their assigned horse. Campers will participate in a variety of activities. Workshops could include equitation, games, drill team, trail obstacles, dressage, beginner jumping, schooling, fitting and showmanship, and stable management. All tack, equipment and approved helmets are provided.
